Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet is suing a British daily newspaper over an article which claimed she had lied about her fitness regime by playing down the amount of exercise she needed.
It is the second time in the last few years she has taken legal action over claims that she has had to work to stay in shape. In 2007, Miss Winslet accepted an undisclosed settlement from a fashion magazine over allegations that she had visited a diet doctor.
The Oscar-winning actress has always claimed she has been completely honest when it came to body and weight issues.
"Up until recently, people always looked at me and thought 'Titanic'. But since the Oscar, I'm much bigger than that. Don't forget, I've got a couple of Golden Globes under my belt, and as a result I'm being offered some really weighty roles. I take my craft seriously, and I don't tread the boards lightly."
Actually, she didn't say anything of the sort, and in true journalistic tradition, I made it up.
