Hollywood, California - Unlike the other fanfare of TV shows of the late sixties on TV Land like "My Three Sons", "Family Affair", "The Nanny and the Professor" and "The Partridge Family" all had the reoccurring theme of having a widower or widow single-handedly maintaining head of households, trying to raise their children alone. The Brady's stood out among the bunch with their White Anglo-Saxon Protestant practical values approach of merging two separate families into one, minus the blowback of incestuous sexual intercourse.
Nevertheless, it remains the most plausible situational sitcom to this day and therefore America's favorite TV family show played on TV Land.
However, with recent confessions in Marcia's (Maureen McCormick) tell-all book of her lesbian affair with little sister Jan (Eve Plumb), along with previous admissions by Mr. Brady, (Robert Reed), being a closet homosexual and Greg's (Barry Williams) sexual Oedipus Rex romp with his TV mother, Carol (Florence Henderson), now has the show's "G" rating recently changed to "NC-17" by censors.
With the exception of "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir", a 1960s TV show about a single woman in an unrequited love affair with a ghost of a lonely Sea Captain with a voyeuristic fetish and super-unnatural obsession with a telescope, "The Brady Bunch" is the only TV Land show that has had its ratings changed to an adult supervision rating required.
The Word is TV Land is currently in negotiations with the Spice channel for rights to air the former family show exclusively on their adult venue.
Rumor has it they have already contracted Alice, (The "Chamber" Maid), and Sam, (The "Butch-her"), dressed in leather S & M outfits to host the newly NC-17 rated episodes with behind the scenes narrations of the sexual backstage romps of "The Brady Bunch" actors and actresses with the stagehands, camera crew and cameo appearances of adult industry movie stars edited into the show.
