Cupertino, California - Following in the footsteps of the popular iPod and iPhone, Apple Inc. has announced an even more sensational marketing campaign this holiday season: the "iRod".
Sporting a sleek exterior that shimmers and glistens, the ten-thousand-dollar gizmo will allow tech-savvy users to control the actions of current major league baseball free agent Alex Rodriguez.
"I hate those guys," said Microsoft chairman Bill Gates. "Why can't I think of these things first?"
Apple CEO Steve Jobs made the announcement on Thanksgiving day, in between bites of tofurkey covered with soy gravy. "The beta version is complete. So we decided to go public with 'iRod' early -- giving eager shoppers plenty of time to buy it."
When asked if he would be interested in the new "iRod", A-Rod said that he would give it some serious thought if the price were right.
