Jimmy Wales, restrained after "successful" press conference

In a move that is sure to change the future of knowledge transfer, Wikipedia has announced it intends to purchase Encyclopaedia Britannica.

The announcement was made at a Press conference held this morning in which Wikipedia outlined its plans for the publisher of the world's oldest continuously published encyclopaedia.

"Wikipedia has been a huge success and we don't see why this successful formula can't be transferred to the world's second most recognised Encyclopaedia." Said a spokesman.

When asked to elaborate, he continued: "We all know knowledge is power. So if Wikipedia has editorial control over all Human knowledge, it will eventually become more powerful than Murdoch!"

A surprised gathering of press elite than demanded to know if he was serious. The spokesman began foaming at the mouth and uttered a satanic chant.

The conference ended abruptly when the spokesman jumped the podium and bit a reporter.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
