Look - fellow Spoffers - it really isn't that I have any real objection to this 'Acronym' thread, but, to be truthful, it grated my nerves from day one.

I'll say why - Nobody can follow it. It isn't funny. Whilst respecting the right of people to participate in absolute drivel, I really have to ask why anyone would ever want to?

None of it makes any kind of sense - admittedly, one of the two or three contributors occasionally tries to keep on topic, but the rest is just meaningless jabber, punctuated by hyphenated and made up words when the contributor can't think of a word to fit.

It also frequently bears no relation whatsoever to what's gone before. And it usually refers to shit, sex, or x-rays.

Or Yesterday - or some such crap.

It isn't about trying to dictate things to people - that's the last thing I, personally would ever want to do - and I'm not doing that. I'm giving an opinion.

It's the publicly available viewpoint of the forum - and you can tell how popular it is by how many people use it. Three.

It's been frustrating over time because when any kind of meaningful discourse started - Anagrams - Or Acronyms.

Almost a thousand pages of absolutely witless and confused bollocks.

I rarely mat these days.

I understand people's reservations about the acronym thread, and Skoob's comments about the 'randomness' of entries is perfectly valid. I usually try to relate my entry to the entry before mine, although it's not always possible.

I guess if you don't like the thread, you can just ignore it. That's not said with a pout; I'm just sayin'...
