Thought I'd share this with y'all, it might make you smile on an otherwise boring Friday.
As I may have mentioned before, part of my real work involves running an eBay shop. And eBay means idiots. The two go hand in hand. I love idiots , and their idiot questions, well this is a blinder of a question I got this morning, followed by my reply. I think their username summed them up quite well, but I will blank it for reasons of fairness to them... Anyway, a little info on the listing. The item in question was a kid's DVD and the listing clearly states it will be sent via Royal Mail 1st Class and has 'free postage and packing' anyway they asked.... Dear --------------, Hi do u post this item? Thanks - -------------- OK, I thought, how best to handle it? So I replied, as best I could.... Hi, yes, is the simple answer. I have found in the past that posting the DVD's is a far more accurate delivery method than throwing them. The cases used to smash on landing too which resulted in negative feedback. Posting them meant I could also sell them further afield, as frankly I throw like a girl. I also toyed with the idea of using a carrier pigeon, but unfortunately he found it difficult to grasp the cellophane wrapping in his gnarled claw, and it slipped out somewhere over Dunstable. Taxi's are far too expensive, and the emergency services take a very dim view on call-outs in a vain attempt to merely use them as a cheap form of transportation. Unless of course you actually work in a hospital, in which case just use that as an alternative delivery address and I'll be sure to trap my finger in a door, or badly stub my toe, so as to necessitate a trip to A+E. Just let me know what shift you're on. Thanks for your interest, and I hope this answers your question, Regards, Nick ---------- I am still awaiting a reply, some 4 hours after sending... |

Great response. We have those kinds of "idiots" on this side of the Atlantic also. PoM |
