A bit of fun and I hope you at least turn your frowns upside down

PROFESSOR: Class who can tell me why forum dwelling males love to write using female nom de plumes?

STUDENT 1: Because they're crosswriters?

STUDENT 2: Because they're transwriters?

STUDENT 3: Because they hate the well-established phrase...IF IT AIN'T BROKE - DON'T FIX IT.

PROFESSOR: Very good class and remember that CENSORSHIP is ugly especially when someone, is trying to tell someone what guidelines, criteria, or rules they should use in order to approve or disapprove stories written by their fellow writers.

STUDENT 1: Sir, perhaps the answer would be to simply do away with the story approval center altogether since it appears that one or two forum dwellers only desire is to use it as a tool by which to TELL others what they should do.

PROFESSOR: You Student 1 have just passed the course. You know EXACTLY how dangerous CENSORSHIP can
really be.

Eh?

(Surely Mark is the ONE in charge unless Moderators are officially appointed. I have watched cerain sites implode when that has happened.)

But some people think it is 'broke' LG, not seriously, but enough to warrant change. Maybe it's not a majority; that's for Mark to decide.

What you are doing is clever, but a touch insidious. You are making the real issue, i.e. the quality of stories that get front page air time, a personality issue, and you're using loaded terms, such as 'censorship', to bolster what is at first sight a non-argument. I think you could've had a career in politics.

Why don't you tell us what you really think about the real issue? Tell us why you think this site is just fine as it is, as others have. Who knows, maybe I'd agree with you.

This insidious load of rubbish, posing as fun...

seems to be about Lady Godiva's ill-informed view of life on the Spoof..

If so, she's posted it in completely the wrong place!

LG that isn't like you at all - not at all like you. It doesn't come over light-heartedly at least not in your style

You have been one of the most active on the approvals section remember. There is no way one can tell others what they should/shouldn't be doing through the approvals desk. One can comment to Mark about things if one feels so inclined. In the final analysis Mark gets to approve or not everything that goes through - it just takes him a bit less time because he has had other opinions on it.

Most of the time I find out what others think either through the forum or through the ratings - particularly those who choose to give regular 1* ratings.

Told you before LG - make sure you know who your real friends are.
