It seems to be the same group, these days, posting on forums.

When I first joined the Spoof I saw many more Writers contributing who have 'dropped' off over the year....I know WHY and it's sad.

They are still reading discussions but were 'shot down' so many times that they've elected to keep out of it all and just carry on writing.

I'm glad they haven't left altogether but I do miss their input. They just felt they were not being 'listened' to, being trampled on by the guys wearing the 'big boots'.

That's sad IMO

Please enlighten.

Who are you referring to?

I miss Fergus and JB and Monkey Woods.

Everybody else still seems to be hanging around.

Regards

Skoob.

...lots Skoob...good folks too...you know who they are...

The fun banter has gone a cropper replaced with
Canned lectures and contrived high school debates..

...other than that ...one must carry on...

I mentioned this subject many moons ago; the demise of participation here is astonishing and many of our fav's have been blown away by the infamous "p+++t & t+++e" rants.

Nevermind, things have a way of bouncing back, especially those huge boobs I saw the other day.

What is all this crap about shooting people down?

As has been said so many times...it's a Spoof website.

Get over it.

There can't be many writers on here who get lampooned more than I do. (Except possibly Mark) I don't mind at all. In fact I look on it as a compliment.

Scaring people away from the forum?

That's ridiculous in the extreme.

Regards

Skoob.

I'm a tough old 'broad' but can see why others (who I won't name because I was told certain things in confidence-and that's not a 'cop out'), got fed up of having their posts picked to pieces.

Hey you this is MY thread LOL

So bugger off if you don't like it eh? Just saying

LG

Edit: Some writers are sensitive folk. They don't drive around in bloody tanks all day.
I do hope they return.

Your right Lady G, some writers are sensitive.

However, as it's a satirical news site, you've really got to expect to be knocked down from time to time. - Or knocked up if your luck's in.

Nobody really means it.............Most of the time,

Some of the time.

Occasionally.

Anyway, the Oasis is open, C'mon get your coat on. I'll buy you a small Barley wine.

Ee by gum! It's years since I 'ad one o' those. Memories?
Mostly 'forgotten' memories after a few barley wines.

No..but I mean...there are ways to talk to some people and other ways to talk to others.

Some people have ONE way and can't adapt. I have to deal with so many students and staff...I adapt my approach depending on the individual. I adapt my tone of voice, body language, number of decibels used etc....depending on who I am in conversation with.

I've worked with people who are so bombastic, loud, obnoxious, my way or the highway folk and they end up bloody LONELY as a result of it. Divorced, living alone and not by THEIR choice but as a result of their behaviours

Well. Corries on. It has been a hot day here and there is a cold Bavarian waiting for me. LOL

not everybody's a diplomat and electronic communication exacerbates communication problems

not everybody thinks of others. it's usually the ones who don't think of others who 'get on', 'get heard', etc. that's society.

I never thought that society was any kind of arbiter of anything much. It's mainly an elaborate survival strategy. vital, yes, but only goes so far.

the best human endeavour transcends selfishness and social strategy.

I'm still curious to know who these people are, who are being "picked to bits."

It's difficult to get to know people communicating just through writing - one cannot necessarily see anything about the emotions or problems of anyone who writes here. I understand your point so it is always best to be polite to new people until one gets an idea of their typical way of participating.

I was jumped on the first time I ventured a post

Not the first time although I remember a few irrascible moments. It was QM actually and a couple of others who got me dead wrong about a comment I made about a QM story concerning Eizabeth 2nd's nether regions. However, everyone had gone through a difficult time not long before with a troll beginning with C.

Meeting people makes quite a difference, at least it has for me - it brings the spoof to life and I can recommend it to everyone. Just ignore your impressions on the forum and give it a go.

Erskin, well put.

As to the people who were picked to bits...why the hell should I give you names. I'm not bloody stupid. Something told to me in confidence, stays with me and is never shared.

Some of YOU did it so surely you MUST know who isn't here anymore as a result of your onsite behaviours. Or maybe you are unable to figure it out.

Most likely you don't give a flying fart as long as YOU are heard. Me, me, me, me, me, oh, and ME! LOL

Some writers here are more to be pitied than scorned - as the saying goes.

Edit: Their posts are NOT being picked apart anymore because they won't post on the forums. I thought I'd made that clear. That was the whole point of this thread.

Pitied and scorned?

Go on then. I'll have six of one and half a dozen of the other.

But seriously...why would anybody be afraid to post anything on here?

It just doesn't make sense.

Honestly, I'm baffled.

Ah well - I can't be right ALL OF THE TIME...unlike SOMEONE on this site.

...Skoobie old SOCK...not AFRAID...just can,t be arsed as yousay...

There's bantering and there's browbeating...worlds of difference..

Demeaning comments and personal attacks under the guise of superior intellect just doesn't get it for me..

Naturally, you are always welcome at table 5, for you are usually considered in my book a voice of reason and champion of the
Under dog..

...now a moment of silence for our dearly departed...

And the blessing of Father DuBois go with them, for they are in a far better place surrounded with good cheer!
