I am sad. The NO to AV camp have won the Battle of Referendum. What stupid, stupid people we have for an electorate.

They want to stop corruption within Whitehall, hold their MPs to account, and then this falls into their laps. And they say NO.

What moronic morons.

They couldn't have opportunity if it beat them up and invaded their homes.

AV may be a half-way house between PR and FPTP, but I'd rather have half a good house than a house that's crumbling down.

But of course, this is to be expected from a bunch of people who think the X-Factor is the best thing since bread was first sliced.

In fact, why have the electorate mashed the Lib Dems? Surely they should be bashing the Tories? The Tories gained councils and councilors... that's just stupid. Stupid coalition. We should've seen this coming.

The Tories are scary people. The Lib Dems were supposed to be their friends and that's how they get treated. I'd hate to be one of their enemies.

What should have happened was to first change the boundaries and then have the vote. People just didn't understand and anyhow the boundaries are such, particularly where I come from, that Micky mouse could get into Parliament if he was a conservative.

Call me stupid if you like, (hello Ferg) but I saw Thatcherism at its worst.

And New Labour at their worst.

But this coalition will (I think) prove to be a disaster.

A 'yes' vote for AV would only have led to decades of this nonsense.

It would have been a vote in favour of mundanity.

That's just my opinion.

True enough that is - we have really no franchise in the UK any more since they are all as bad
