Apparently, if you took all the empty space out of human beings, then you could fit the entire human race into an area the size of a sugar cube.

Is it empty though? Do not quantum fluctuations queer the pitch?

Empty or not, it sure beats the Guinness Book of Records with its silly "23 policewomen in a telephone kiosk" nonsense.

Well, it is truly empty - if you define empty as a vacuum. If you were to scale an atom up the size of a football pitch, with the nucleus at the centre point, then the nearest electron would be outside of the grounds.

Also, there is no such thing as touching. There is a tiny, minute, microscopic space between any two 'touching' objects. It's just a very tiny electrostatic force that is keeping your fingers from sinking into the keyboard. Which makes sense, because in water, you can dip your finger in because the intermolecular electrostatic forces are weaker than that of a solid. But you're still not touching the water.

Emptiness is where it's at, man.

It is said that you can achieve enlightenment by meditating upon the fact that there is no point of contact between the eye and the object of vision.
