Meh. I like the idea of Red Nose Day. I dislike the practise of it. It's really just a chance for celebs to feel good, and feel like they're good people by putting a tenner into a bucket or something and that's it.

"I wanted clean clothes, a square meal, and decent indoor plumbing, but with Comic Relief, Victoria Beckham gave me lipstick and nail varnish to feel like a real woman. Thanks Comic Relief."

Still, can't complain. Got a non-uniform day, although that was for the West Midlands Air Ambulance.

I already give regularly to various charities so personally don't favour these things.

But you can't knock it really if it does some good.

The programme itself hasn't actually been that bad for a change. Long gone are the days when the cast of Birds of a Feather pranced around the stage in tutu's.

Nah, not really. I have a direct debit in place for an internationally renowned charity but the swines keep calling me. They're worse than cold callers.

Worst thing about these calls is they hardly ever say "sorry to bother you, have you got a minute..." and they get all uppity if you so much as cast doubt upon the notion that you should be sat at home all day with bated breath waiting for them to honour you with a call.

Plus they always ring when you've just got in from work, knackered and pissed off and just want to have your tea.
