If it is a fellow Spoofer, no problem, if it is not. Then I would like to have a word with the owner.

A bit selective, that.
This time last year the Fascist On Sunday plagiarised nmy exploding breast implants story, claiming that MI5 had foiled the booby bomb. Pure 100% rip-off. Penned them a stiff one, never heard back. |

QM I think the quoted article appears to suggest that The Mail has ripped The Spoof off yet again. Don't know who was responsible for the original, but it seems harmless enough. And it's only on a blog. Regards Skoob. |

Well, I for one. am getting fucked off with arseholes thinking they can take our work, and use it as and when they see fit. I propose we copyright our work and nale the next bastard to the yard arm!
I have friends that run the Gay Mafia. One word from me, and they will go round there and criticise thier curtains and furniture. How do we stop these gits from nicking our stuff? Arm xxxxx |

Your work is already copywritten. You can register it if you like but that just gives you better ammo in an expensive lawsuit. Lood at the thread regarding attribution about a go around I just had on behalf of many Spoof writers. I won. It is difficult to get a point across, but I was able to get mine across quite well. Many Spoof writers didn't even know their stories were appearing on his site without proper credit. Charpa |

My daughter's boyfriend writes and performs comedy (they both do - he does more writing than she does)...he told me that when he writes anything new he always emails it to himself then he has a record of the date and time etc.
He probably isn't writing as much as Spoofers, but he wants to 'safeguard' his comedy etc. and rightly so! Will this work??? If you don't want your stuff 'stolen'. LG |

It's a myth that this is the way to protect your work. If you write something and you want to protect it, the only way is to send the idea, treatment, script, story, etc. to the Writer's Guild with your $25 check and get a certificate that shows the registration number. Otherwise, it is your word against theirs. I've been told this by industry experts. There is a whole process in contacting someone who you believe has stolen your work. I would be glad to do a list of things to do for anyone who is interested. Just PM me. |

Well I totally agree arm but unlike the other case mentioned here the chap does mention the spoof. Was the dialogue from the forum?
He is sort of commenting on the Mail but to be honest all the Mail did was a parody of Sherlock Holmes which is allowed. I don't think they ripped off your story did they? It's a bit ambiguous what he does think on the blog but he isn't of the habit of ripping anyone off - just commenting.
