A bit of shameless plugging.

Sixty years ago Bristol Rovers fans 'adopted' Goodnight Irene as their club song apparently after being taunted with it by Plymouth Argyle fans whilst losing 0-2. Rovers went on to score three goals and when the Argyle fans started to leave the ground early 'Goodnight Argyle' was sung at them to the same tune. The song stuck and can be heard at every Bristol Rovers match, home and away.

A group of Gasheads recorded a version of 'Goodnight Irene' a few years ago and were asked to release it this month, the 60th anniversary of the supporters 'claiming' it.

All profits are going to two Bristol charities, it only costs 79p and it would be great to get it in the top 40.

The version of the song is pretty crap, but it would be a reet giggle to hear it on the charts on Radio 1 on Sunday (not that you would be able to of course, unless you got ya Mam to record it on a C60 or summat).............
