I found this on the web and thought you like it
• The Elliot Lake Department of the Environment is advising hikers, hunters, fishermen and golfers to take extra precautions and keep alert for bears, while in the area. • You are advised to wear noise-producing devices such as little bells on your clothing,to alert, but not startle,a bear unexpectedly. • You are recommended to carry a pepper-spray in case you encounter a bear. • It's also a good idea to watch out for fresh signs of bear activity, and importantly,to recognise the difference between black bear and grizzly bear droppings. • Black bear droppings are smaller, and contain berries, and possibly squirrel fur. Grizzly bear droppings have little bells in them, and smell of pepper spray.. |
