Germany's Nazi government was so angry about a dog trained to imitate Hitler that it started an obsessive campaign against its Finnish owner, according to newly discovered documents. --------------------------
The dog, Jackie, was a mutt owned by Tor Borg, a businessman from the Finnish city of Tampere. Borg's wife Josefine, a German citizen known for her anti-Nazi sentiments, dubbed the dog Hitler because of the strange way it raised its paw high in the air like Germans greeting the Fuehrer with a cry of "Heil Hitler!"

What a story! Maybe they were jealous coz they didn't think of training a pack of dogs themselves, to lead their parades etc.

If it's true, it's scary - the power some folk have.

Strikes me this sort of thing is the hallmark of a doomed regime.

The Russians accused Shostakovitch of composing 'unpatriotic' music - whatever that might be. Strange since music only has its affect by stirring up feelings inside the listener. Composers never know what those will be whatever their intentions.

Whenever I hear the waltz from his Jazz Symphony I can't help seeing Stalin on skates! Not now anyway since I read that the commies accused him.
