Well, I have heard about The Onion but haven't been there yet, however, the mere mention of The Onion has motivated me to start this new thread.
Most people do not like peeling onions because they usually end up in tears. Now...read on...this is common bloody sense.... When peeling an onion...it is the fumes that go up your nose, reach your eyes and cause the tears. The bleeding obvious thing to do...IS..when peeling onions do NOT BREATHE THROUGH YOUR NOSE. BREATH ONLY THROUGH YOUR MOUTH. It works 100% of the time. Some folk have said, "Peel onions under water". That tip is so freakin' stupid coz most of the onion juices will leak out into the water diluting the onion's beautiful flavour. No guff! Please try this and give other Spoofers 'feedback'. Lady G. |

This all sounds like too much faff.
The solution: Wear contact lenses. I have been wearing them for several years now, and since the day I put them in, I have never cried when pealing an onion. I mentioned this to my optician, and she reckoned it was common knowledge. Iain |

I'm not gonna fork out for contact lenses when I can just NOT BREATH THROUGH MY NOSE when peeling onions. That's just too ridiculous.
Anyway...you cannot PEAL onions....you can only PEAL bells and that would not make your eyes water anyway, unless you got the rope caught up in your 'family jewels'. ![]() Lady G. |
