Well, it's a stitch-up, that's for sure.

However, I'd be satisfied if we had a proper international team given proper priority by those who run our game, world cup or no world cup.

Currently it is a mere afterthought. The 'premiership' is not so much a sporting entity as a business proposition for foreign investors, and the international team is accorded a low priority.

Shame. We might have blagged it to the semis on penalties if we'd played all our games at Wembley.

Well, I think all English Premiership teams should ONLY have English players (same for the Italian League etc.) and ONLY English coaches, owners, managers etc.

Mind you, the teams would probably be pretty pathetic, but they'd be English. I'd like to see them try it one year, just for fun....

But it IS BIG BUSINESS sad to say!

Take a look at David Moyes. A classic British manager at a British club.

I actually 'like' him! Honestly! He's not hard on the eyes either.

Haha that poll's had more votes than England.

Thanks LG for that interpretation of the "best" manager in the Premier League

Weeeellll - look at some of those old buggers on the sidelines. A coupla faces could turn milk sour.

Oh, I love the game, but have my favourite players, sometimes it's skill I consider, sometimes 'looks'. If they have both...all the better.

Wish I could think of the 'ugliest' manager's name. You know him...never cracks a smile....damn..I'll be stuck thinking about his name all night now.

Heeeellllp!

There's loads of managers who never crack a smile. I think Carlo Ancelotti, Sam Allardyce and Roberto Mancini could sum the bill.

Worst off? Ian Holloway. Intellectually, mentally and physically. Ouch.

Who do you support LG?

I remember now Harry Rednapp (is that his name?)

Well, I did support Man. U. but have gone off them lately.

Chelsea aren't bad in my books.
I just like watching the game.

Home town of Middlesbrough, even though they've been relegated - went to see a match at Riverside Stadium when 'over 'ome in summer. They lost to Ipswich but I bought a new scarf.

Over here it HAS to be Toronto Football Club.
Danny Dickio (spelling!) retired but the fans always chant his name when the 'minute' arrives in any game when Danny scored the very first goal for TFC about 4 seasons ago. Only 2 Canadian teams at present in the MLS, (American Major Soccer League) and I love the fact that Toronto fans call the game 'football'.

Very much a minority. Everton were the first team I supported - the 69-70 team. Great side.

Then I started watching me local team.

Erskwin, I didn't follow football at all until the EPL was formed.

My dad was a footie fanatic. He died a number of years ago.
It is really wierd - to me - that I THEN started to watch football over here in Canada and learned the rules from the commentators etc.

My brother, who is a policeman, set up a league for the local youth in the area where he works, with the help of another brother. It's helped the relationship between many of the kids and police.

Saturday, which is 'tomorrow' for me...is a great day coz I get to watch an EPL match. I don't care who it is ...I love the game.

Oh my...get me defending English football against Canadian Hockey. Wussies the Hockey players. So much padding and they are never on the ice for 90 mins. like most of our football players are during a match - sometimes even longer.

Hockey players are on and off the ice constantly.

The only TRUE athletes, are football players in my opinion.

On reflection, it's fair to say that England have been the architects of their own demise with this one, what with all the money they have strenuously attracted to the game, and the 'businesslike deals' associated with it.

What more could we have expected?

Get rid of some of the money from football, and we'd start to see something of the old game.

I won't argue with that.
