Good afternoon, Mrs Batbatbartbat (for it is she), how may I be of assistance?

Hello, Mr Monkhbat (for it is none other than he). Tell me...

Yes?

Give me a chance for fuck's sake man.

Sorry, Mrs Batbatbartbat.

That's OK.

Well?

Well what?

What were you about to ask me, good Mrs Batbatbartbat?

You distracted me. I've forgot.

Forgotten, you mean.

I mean what? Oh, I see what you're saying. Ah. I remember now. Tell me...

Yes?

Now don't start again...

So sorry. Please proceed my dear Mrs Batbatbartbat.

Right. Tell me, do you have a Yak's haunch?

Oh, no, I am sorry. No. It is just the way I walk.

What's the best part of a yak?

"A typical Tibetan meal would consist of tsampa, washed down with lots of Hot Yak Butter Tea, some air-dried yak meat, and dessert would be yak yoghurt, perhaps with a bit of wild honey…"

Apparently the meat is air-dried and eaten raw. I don't know which bits they use to make honey...

But for me, the best part of the Yak is Hamlet. A yak makes a wonderfully enigmatic Hamlet.

They are also very effective in Pinter.

No need for the apology, we are all friends among yaks or yaks among friends, I always have trouble with that one, fancy some ghee?

What a shame that the yak has never seen fit to venture seaward. I feel sure that the yak and the manitee would soon become friends, were they to meet.

Perhaps Erskin, perhaps, given a proper shave and some lessons the yak may take to the water naturally.

Of course, it goes without saying that the manitee is unlikely to exchange his watery comforts for the harsh steppes of Mongolia, or the mountain fastnesses of Tibet's 'enchanted kingdom', so the pressure, I fear, would be very much all one way, in this deal.

Such a thing as an exchange visit would seem to be very much out of the question here.

To Victor....I am fond of clarified butter when cooking but do not want to eat or drink it

Gee - ghee is great for cooking! Cannot buy it in our tiny town though. Usually stock up when visiting Toronto.

So a conjugal visit to the steppes by a manatee is out of the question.

The yak is favoured then as far as this goes.

I have often thought of this when my mind wanders.

My Dear Lady,

I have run into creatures of all stripes in Toronto especially on Yonge Street but never a yak, perhaps I should try Rosedale.

No need to purchase ghee, you can make it yourself from yak butter.

Bring the yak butter up to a boil and mop up the fat with a yak wisk or dried yak tail.

Voila!

That's what I want for Christmas - a Yak whisk.

Ideally an entire "Yurt Cookery" kit. Then I could live the dream.

Erskin, if you find what you are looking for....get me a set too. Yak, yak, yak, yak, yak, yak, yak. You can never have too many yaks, in my humbe opinion.

Their fur can be spun and dyed to make beautiful clothing, although the yak-fur underwear tickles a bit.

Ah, yak fur underwear. It'll see you through many a long night out on the steppe, in your yurt, with no telly!
