Been up since 05:30 yesterday, did a day's work, got home at 7:30pm and have been flicking over to the news every now and again, just hoping for a bit of Jesus Budda style good news for a change. It's now 03:16, they're still pissing about with spanners. I'm off to bed.

I hope it works out okay.

Regards

Skoob.

I was just wondering how they are going to cope with being media stars then I saw one of them wearing shades.

Apparently they got a "star pack" on the way up, which included shades, a quick-start guide on thumping paparazzi and 5 grammes of Bolivian's Finest.

How ironic that Thatcher has her 85th birthday today and has been knocked off the world news headlines by a group of miners.

Chile, you showed how to get the job done. So pleased the miners are being rescued. Don't they look remarkably well?

I ended up sticking around until they got the first guy, Florencio Silva, out, then went to bed. They've just brought guy number eleven out. Fingers crossed they'll all make it safely.

Good news at its finest hour. No oil spills, no witchcraft, no socialist agenda, no soccer match brawls (scratch that, that's more entertainment than bad news.)

Viva le differencer!

Good point, matey.

I know this is going to sound terrible but......I could give two continental shits about this bloody miners story.
What's it all about?
I'm sick of it.
Well done for being rescued and all, but is it really that important?

No.

No offence to the miners - I hope they have a lovely time out and about above ground - but the media is taking the piss on this one.

It's that whole Hudson River aeroplane miracle shite all over again.
Next they'll be on Oprah holding their mini Bibles to their chests and talking shite. In Spanish.

For fucks sake. Did anything else happen in the news today? I can't tell because all I'm seeing is this drivel.

You miserable shit!!!

Think of the good that could come out of it, there's a lovely deep hole there with a capsule to lower people down in to it. I realise there's only so much room down there so it's too important a decision to make flippantly.

I'll think about it overnight, but I will start the ball rolling with Sepp Blatter and Thierry Henry...... No need to use the capsule.

Just grease them up and let them go.

Ferg, you have a memory as thick as a pair of elephants balls, Thierry, does it still hurt? But I do agree actually and with JB too.

A couple of million chinks topped it during the earthquake, was there the same media hog-wog?

What exactly is a 'chink'?

I just googled it.

It's either the sound of coins clicking together, or a derogatory term for people of far Eastern origin.

You racist bastard.

You need to meet up with Al Murray - he'd fucking sort you out.

Using an avatar of a Frenchman...

What's that all about?

Regards

Skoob.

PS - Did you used to drink in the Royal Albert? Lovely pub. Full of Millwall wankers. Just sayin'

Thank dad you didn't mention gay.

It'd all kick off then... That's a thought!

I wonder which one will be the first miner to "come out" after coming out?

There's 33 of them so the odds are....

10.3 of them Fergus.

If the statistics are to be believed.

No wonder the fuckers keep hugging everybody.

After so long away...

I just bought an ethnic sprinkler for my garden. You turn on the water, and it goes, "Spic... spic... spic... chink! Nigga-nigga-nigga-nigga-nigga."

It was made in China, but I bought it from a Mexican working at a shop in the Tenderloin.

I'm not a racist - it was just cheaper that way.

Methinks I owe NMC an apology.

I used that info in an article but attributed it to masterchev.

My mistake entirely.

Apologies - I'll correct it right now, but the story will be pulled until the next edit session.

Skoob.

The Chilean Miners nonsense remind me of that 'Timmy O'Tool trapped down the well' episode of The Simpsons.

This may sound harsh (actually it IS harsh) but I think they should just fuck a few more lads down a hole and keep the camera's rolling for a few more weeks.
Absolutely disgraceful abuse of media coverage for something so trivial.
