Last US Combat Troops leaving Iraq. Should all be in Kuwait within the next hour.

We're a long way from seeing an end to all participation in Iraq, but imagine the joy of the families of those soldiers crossing the border as we speak!

Thank God.

100% NOT TRUE!!!

We still have 50,000 combat troops in Iraq, who are still receiving combat pay. We also still have an aircraft carrier (and full carrier support group) in the gulf.

Simmer down. I reported it correctly. I said "combat" troops. I did not say all troops. Everyone knows we still have 50,000 troops in Iraq. We also know that they are not out of harms way just because we've pulled combat troops.

Sorry if you didn't get the gist of my post. Who knew when I wrote it as it was happening, nothing would really change over there. It was a momentous occasion watching our troops head for the Kuwaiti border and I wanted to somehow memorialize that fact. Nothing was meant to take anything away from the troops still there.

Wise words.

However, your presence at The Spoof both belies and betrays your wisdom - maybe if you been over there running things instead of writing silly stories, there wouldn't have been a war.

You really dropped the ball on that one.
