A driver who parked her car without using the handbrake phoned her local council to tell them ghosts had moved the vehicle.

The woman called Sutton Borough Council to question whether the car park was haunted after her vehicle "moved of its own accord".

CCTV footage showed the car had rolled into a different parking bay after she failed to apply her handbrake properly.

The query was among bizarre phone calls made by members of the public to Sutton council's call centre today. Others included: "How long can I safely store ginger powder for?" and "Can I put a dead fox in my recycling bin?"

Brilliant.

I wonder if they get calls like this on the Isle of Wight.......

Even with their participles dangling, I'm sure the council answers all sorts of calls, sometimes even if their prepositions are about to fall off!

We got some 'doozies' when I worked in a bank...and in industry....'accident reports'....but that's another whole thread...
