My Mrs is on the phone right now.
She's talking about some bloke who kept his ear in a tobacco tin. Seems he went to the toilet and dropped dead. Now she's on about phobias. Anybody else on here subjected to overhearing weird telephone conversations? I'm not eavesdropping by the way - she's turned the TV right down, so I don't have much choice. It's still going on and just getting weirder by the minute. Regards Skoob. |

Personally, I like standing in the public phone booths in train stations, filling in the gaps in the person's conversation next to me.
Stranger: "What's for dinner?" Me [Pretending to be on the phone next to them]: "Lamb, if I can get the oven working." Stranger: "What time do you need me back?" Me: "Whatever, don't care. I'll eat it myself if you're not here." etc. Weirdly, never been caught. Iain |

funny you should bring that up!
just talking last night over dinner about folks with cell phones chatting on forever about nothing....a woman in the air terminal last year talking non stop sitting right next to us...whoever was on the other end never got a word in.....42 minutes without a break... saw another couple in a real nice restaurant...the woman was on her cell phone from the time they came in until the entre....he sat there looking into space...she did too...no connection what so ever... as far as content...they probably couldn't tell you what they were talking about 5 minutes after they hung up... and don't get me started on 'texting'..... |

Do any of you ever remember the very first "dirty" cell phone call you were witness to? I do. I was shopping in the TJMaxx (discount clothing store) minding my own business when I hear this woman talking about the one-night stand she had the night before with a friend on her cell phone.
No details were left out and I swear as hard as I tried to get away from her, she seemed to be looking for the same damn striped pair of pants I was. Maybe there's a story in here somewhere. And this is true as well, I am making not of it up. I went back to that same story maybe a week or so later and saw a sexual drama being played out again only this time for real. Some geeky guy was hotly pursuing his great-looking co-worker and he wasn't about to take no for an answer. He offered everything from flowers to candy to dinner and asked only of her "sleep with me just once, that's all I ask!" True story. Charpa |

I keep getting other people ringing me up.
It's never me. Though I suppose I AM on this end of the phone, so I shouldn't really complain. |

I just had a call from India - some chappie trying to flog telephone services.
I asked him if he was calling about me knee. That baffled him. So he went on for a second or three before I told him I was having trouble kneeling down and that it really hurt every time I went to the fridge. He chuckled for a bit, then advised me to consult a doctor. He did try again but I just twatted on about me dodgy knee. He advised me to see a doctor again. Telemarketers eh? Gawd love 'em. Regards Skoob. |

Had a laugh with one once. Kept on asking if he was the Hungarian Lighthouse Company.
