Ah, the good ol' WBC. I once took part in a peaceful counterdemonstration, years ago, when the WBC came to the Mpls.-St. Paul area to protest in front of various churches. All I remember is that we stood in front of a Lutheran church in St. Paul which supports gay rights. I can't remember why the WBC picked that particular time; might have been one of the times when the ELCA was debating whether to change its stand on gay clergy, and homosexuality generally, or it may have been a tie-in to when the Episcopalians were meeting in Minneapolis to appoint their first openly gay bishop, Gene Robinson.

Not that the WBC ever really needs a reason, mind you. Just poking around the cobwebbed recesses of memory here.
