This situation is really getting on my nerves. Doesn't BP have any creative problem solvers on staff?

I believe I have a solution to fix this massive oil leak. Anybody here know anybody that could help make this happen?

Here's what I envision: A remote controlled, pressurized cannister of gas, enclosed in an industrial strength balloon. Feed it into the pipe and set it off. The balloon expands and stops the flow.

Simple, yes?

Seriously, if anybody knows somebody that knows somebody that knows somebody, pass this along. I'm pretty sure it would work.

Hurry!

BP is a mega contributor to the UK exchequer.

Looks like the fines could cripple its balance sheet.

Too much cheese also works to that end.

Perhaps Wisconsin has some dairy surplus to share for the greater good?

These things have habit of being difficult even above ground particularly with gas. The Russians did something a while ago that set of the release of an underground gas reservoir that is still burning.

What we need is for all oil pipes in the future to be fitted with a mechanical sphincter. I know several people who if introduced in close proximity to such a sphincter would cause it to tighten on an almost permanent basis.
