I was talking to a friend of mine in t'pub last night and he told me a story I thought some of you may find amusing, as I did. It's kind of a lesson in the stupidity of man. He assures me it's true.
My friend is a doctor at a local NHS walk-in centre near where I live. He had a guy come in on monday with cuts all over his arms and quite a nasty gash on top of his head. As they were patching him up they asked how he did it and he told them he had decided to cut his hedge. He didn't own a hedgetrimmer so thought it was wise to use his Flymo. As he was waving it about he lost balance and fell back with the mower on top of him, hence the cuts. Dumbass. Anyway, about an hour later another guy was admitted and my friend noticed he had similar cuts all over him. He went over and enquired how the guy got to be in this state and was told he was cutting his hedge with, you guessed it, his Flymo. "That's amazing, there was a guy in earlier who had the exact same injuries!" my friend said. "I know, I saw him outside" said the patient, "he lives down the road from me, I saw him cutting his hedge as I drove by and thought what a good idea! So I tried it." If only he'd driven by 10 minutes later, he would have seen his neighbour lying under the Flymo, and maybe decided against this approach to hedge management! |

A good story that shows how stupid people can be.
