Rock anthem outselling X Factor winner Joe McElderry

Rock band Rage Against The Machine is ahead of X Factor winner Joe McElderry in the race for the Christmas number one, early sales figures suggest.

I wasn't going to buy the X-Factor single, but having read this, I just had to buy the RATM tack, even though I've got it on an album somewhere. Amazon are selling it for 39p

Yeah, but for Simon, it's a flash in the pan.

He's invested a lot of time and money into the X-Factor and without the kudos of a Christmas #1 it's going to put a downer on his return.

All his hot air about it being 'unfair' to the guy is rubbish. Like Simon really cares. He's there to give the guy the chance to make a one-off single, before letting him disappear into obscurity along with the rest of them.

I'm a huge Rage fan. When I say 'huge' I mean that I like them a lot- not that I'm a lardo.

'Evil Empire' is one of my all time favorite albums and their side project band with Chris Cornell was even decent. Which was a nice suprise because most side projects are shit.

I thought Soundgarden were lovely.
Nobody else could sing about a Spoonman and get away with it so easily.

X-Factor is over. Thank God for that.
Reality singing star competitions? Pah!
Where's Steve Brookstein these days, eh? Eh?

RATM, legends, origins of Nu Metal and gave bands like Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Korn, Disturbed, etc their break!
