Just trying to write an Atonement Day story, bit flummoxed by the only decent anagram of Yom Kippjur being I'm Up Porky.

Not very kosher.

Interesting anagram

I had to look up Yom Kippur. I have heard of it, but didn't know what it was exactly.

I remember being taught some things about Judaism in school, but the majority of my knowledge of faiths other than Christianity is Islam.

The table on this page, I guess, highlights why that may be. Approximately 70% of the UK population is Christian, 3% Muslim, and just 0.5% is Jewish.

According to wikipedia, there are 2 bn Christians worldwide, 1.5 bn Muslims and 0.025 bn (25m) Jews, and it seems the majority of Jews live in either Israel or the US.

Up until 1945, there were at least 6 million more Jews living in Europe. If you look at the figure of 25 million alive today, and figure for population growth, this probably means that about 20 to 25% of all Jews worldwide died in the Holocaust.

I hope it didn't come across like I was neglecting this. I can see that my comment regarding the location of today's Jews could be taken as overlooking this, but it certainly wasn't intended.

Correctiion! About half the world's Jewish population seem to be living here right bang in the middle of my bit of London, oy vey!
