"Bizarrely the clip was from Blue Crush (ironically a film about a girl who fancies a hunky footballer) staring Kate Bosworth aired on ITV at the same time. Surely things can't be that bad at the Beeb, that they need to copy other broadcaster's material?"

Here's a true-life Torquay story from, I think, 1981.
