Here's a link to our 'local newspaper' here in Pattaya, so that you can see how redundant writing Spoofs has become.

http://www.pattayapeople.com/default.asp?Folder=1858&IdArticleStatus=1

Mundane stories written in a spoof-dramatic fashion. I'm finished, washed-up, worn-out and run-down by my own sword.

My favourite which appeared in this week's edition: UMBRELLA THEFT.

A 25-year-old woman has been arrested by police after stealing an umbrella from a shop. Mire details to follow.

Says it all really.

I just checked out the link.

It's funnier than the spoof.

I can imagine the spoof being overrun by professional Thai journalists who aren't aware they're funny, and kicking the rest of us into touch.

Wonder what the Vegas papers are like?

Regards

Skoob.

Wow! Lotsa hangings there! Do tourists book vacations and bring along a rope?
Also, it sure looks like if you're a Brit, Dane, or Swede your life expectancy is about 3 days!
Ahhhh the land of excitement!
Hey Monkey how you doing?

Not too bad, Buck. Just getting started.

The newspaper is also broadcast as TV news on the Pattaya People news channel, with the reporters cobbled together from various non-English-speaking parts of Europe - Germans, Danes, Icelanders, that kind of thing.

Makes interesting listening. (laughs)

Mark could double the size of the gallery if he pixelated a part of each picture that is there now.

How big is Pattaya? Is it mostly tourists?

Sure seems like a dangerous place to take a holiday.

Buck, MB

We should all go over there.

I could imagine Monkey's face (if I knew what he looked like) when a big bunch of Spoofers turn up at his door complete with luggage.

I'd pay to see that one!

Regards

Skoob.

Skoob: he left the UK because he thought IT was too dangerous!!!????

Holy Shit!

Everyone better carry their own knife in their sock in case you have to cut yourself down from the closet while hanging around.......

It's a lovely holiday destination with just a hint of murderous intent around every corner.

A bit like Dudley.

I'm not on holiday though, MB.

On the plus side,

It sounds much better than Burnley, and less dangerous.

In Burnley you can get into a fight at 6:30 in the morning at a bus stop because you looked at somebody the wrong way.

Honestly, I've been in some rough neighbourhoods in Europe, I've been to Harlem in NYC, but Burnley is the only place I've ever felt vulnerable.

I even heard a West Ham fan in Erith(for JO) say there was no way he'd be going to an away game at Burnley.

It's scary.

They killed a Nottingham Forest fan a couple of years back because they didn't like him.

And I'm from Salford.

I'm just glad they don't have guns freely available there. It would make the Bronx look like a kiddie's playground.

So fellow Spoofers, it's all round to Monkey's Pattaya beach place for the summer picnic.

All in favour, say AYE!

Regards

Skoob.

I noticed a story on there called "Monk-ee Business."

What have you been up to already, MW?

I know. I'm sorry you had to move and all. I didn't know that kind of ignorance still existed, but it obviously does. Anyway, it's a shame.

I was talking about the vacationers.

Question: Now that MW is living in Thailand, what do you wanna bet Phil Edgars Bones will suddenly move to Thailand too?

I'm taking bets

For some reason Buck, that statement just gladdened my heart.

'Hate nonsense' is a perfect description.

Life's too short for that kind of shit.

Kindest Regards

Sounds like they might just take you on and there is no end of material.

Why are all the ex pats committing suicide, apart from alcohol induced? It's not that hard to make the papers in other ways.

Just curious.

Doc: my cousin, of the same age, married a Thai gal a few years ago and I was the best man (twice) in Florida. They have since built a house for "the family" in Thailand, and have been sending $ back.

Latest was, his wife sent $2000 back for one of her brothers to go to cosmotalogy school....they went back recently to check on the house where it appears the whole village is living, and found out the brother invested the whole $2,000 into have Breast Implants....

AND YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY FUCKING PEOPLE ARE KILLING THEMSELVES....

TRY WAKING UP TO THAT AFTER A ROUGH NIGHT IN TOWN.....

RESTING MY CASE....

That is an uncommon occurrence. Normally when a person turns up to see the house he has been 'building' or 'helping to build', the place is a swamp, or a disused car park or a desolate sandy place just waiting for more bodies to be buried there.

Do people go to see horror movies there or just watch the news, visit the neighbours, walk the dog . . .

Actually, Vic, I didn't know it was this bad until I got here and turned the news on. It does seem pretty weird, but wherever you get a large contingent of expats and other rogues from abroad, it attracts the lowlife and crims from the locality, and trouble is never very far away.

They do horror films, but not so well. They like ghost stories though. They threaten children that, if they don't behave, etc etc etc. A bit crude if you ask me, but nobody's asking me.

Is part of the problem some ex pats try and drink up the beer supply the first two weeks they arrive?

Don't know. It's a funny sort of place where 'nightmares' seem to masquerade as 'dreams'. Once the veil has lifted, a desire to hang oneself, or to drop off a high building seems to come to many.

When I start to feel like that, I'll spoof it first for posterity.

Goodnight.

Chummed around with ex pats while visitng a friend in Bermuda.

They were concerned about letting their standards drop.

Keep up the quality.

Victor
