With the close of the football season imminent, I for one will be swotting up on US politics in order to keep the banter going on these boards.
Some exchanges of opinion from our American based brethren have been pretty toxic and invariably heated. Not to mention scathing.
I like this kind of thing, so I'll be reading up on it all just as soon as I've finished watching 4,000 episodes of Star Trek so that my collaboration segment won't stick out like a baboon's arse.

Here comes the summer!

Skoob me ol chum, try listening to the FAB four / Revolver, nice piece of soothing nostalgie, and if you want to feel real happy I'd recommend Hasta La vista Barcelona by Arnie Baby or a good solid dose of my personal fav Joy Division (took their name from the Nazi Joy Squads in the concentration camps who banged and raped the female inhabitants, SAD!) But they're still the greatest band on the planet and always will be! Come from your neck of the "(Monkey) Woods by the way.

You got Brit summers all wrong. They usually involve gale force winds, driving rain, fat people in varying stages of undress and near freezing temperatures.

Oh, and an annual average of 2.7 minutes sunshine.

Which is why we all bugger off to Florida and the Med at holiday time.

Football season over? Nope, it ended back in early February with the Pro Bowl. It will start in July with training camp and then we get preseason in August.

Football is right around the corner!

For those who never saw the story:

The Cowboys had a practice facility covered with an inflatable dome. Tornado force wins and a microburst caused the roof and the structure to come tumbling down on a practice. Two people suffered severe spinal injuries (one had successful surgery, the other will be permanently paralyzed). One of the two was an assistant coach and the other was a team scout.

Now, if they had been practicing in Texas Stadium (the one with the hole in the roof of the dome so that God can watch his team), he never would have allowed this to happen.
