Trying to squeeze out the last breath of the the phenomenon that is Susan Boyle. I stumbled on a site dedicated to Simon Cowell's vanity, tiny height and height boosting heels and shoe lifts.

So - which one of these men has the biggest Napolean complex ? Or needs to be the tallest man in the world. They would all look terrible as very tall men- as really big people all look like the 'Jaws' fellow and Andre the Giant.

Anyhoo here are the biggest lift wearing contenders- some which were a surprise to me.

You've got to give Shatner the vanity points here. Not only did he wear lifts all during the original Star Trek, he also wears a full toupee. He was wearing just a hairpiece on Star Trek back in the 60's, but is has progressed into a full blown wig.

As I understand, he has never been photographed "topless."

On Trek, TJ Hooker, and his other shows, he would always be raised to allow him to stand alongside the co-stars at the same height (or he sits down while everyone stands around him).

Yes I forgot Tom Cruise who who makes Kylie Minogue look like that Brigette Nielson chappie.

My vote goes to Shatner as not only did he wear lifts and a crown topper in Trek and Hooker, but he also wore a corsette for his big gut and claimed it was for his back.

I read Nichelle Nichols autobiography and he had the post room hide her fan mail so she would believe she wasn't popular. Each week he would ask her if she had any fanmail and pretend he didn't know why she wasn't a hit with the audiences -even suggesting she should leave.

He would also steal her lines and the lines of other cast members.

In some scenes on Star Trek he is taller than Leonard Nimoy who is a good four-five inches taller than him without lifts, big shoes and beehive hair piece. The ultimate vain man. However he is an excellent singer. His Rocket Man is sublime.
