Gadzooks!
That pesky Skoob is 'supercharging' his Nintendo so that he can spring a really super-duper move which will annihilate all of my pieces in one fell swoop. The cad! But wait! An idea has occurred to me. Yes, I have it! Should Skoob not return to the arena within 24 short hours, I, myslef, will take to the board, as both black and white, and shall, with all the power available to me, and with all of my natural skill and ability at this chequered-board frolic, endeavour to win the game back for him, the gentleman of Salford, the Burnley Bomber, 'old' Skoob, who hath, this day, spoken openly about his cheatsmanship in so honest and frank a fashion, that one could not fail to assign to him the most maximum respect. Wouldst that all men were like Him. That, I rede you, would, truly, be a thing to behold! That OK, Skoob? |

(This is good, this. Great spectator sport. I can't understand why it's not more popular, like darts, or snooker, or nude croquet.)

It needs an fireball explosion reward mechanism to take off as a video game.

It's one for the lover of nuance, non-sequitur, and the pregnant hiatus.
At this time of year, we recommend that you bring your pregnant hiatus inside, into a warm stable or barn. After all, they are creatrures of the sub-tropic zone, notwithstanding their successful acclimatisation in Northern Hemisphere zoos. |

And how shall one properly greet an Atus?
With welcome hand and smile sweet or would a simple nod of the head and Hi Atus do? |

I'll respond to this move when I get home from school, Skoob.
Is it a good one? (Tries to remember positions of pieces...) |

I'll rectify that when I get home, Skoobus.
I seem to be making all kinds of glaring errors, don't I? Like that bishop I didn't know I had. My immediate thoughts are that Ch*rlie (Monkeywoods Jnr) has been a little mischief-maker on one of his visits to my room. I'll be speaking with him later, and 'further action' may need to be taken. I'll keep you informed of developments. |

I know the feeling mate.
I had the grandkids round yesterday, and the wife wants to put the chessboard away. I am right though. Well, the Nintendo is. Work back through the moves on the thread. Again, sorry for cheating - but that Nintendo ain't Gary Kasparov. It's a bit dumb if you ask me. Looking at the current state of play, you're ahead on material, but you're extremely vulnerable. As I am. Just keep an eye peeled for the double play and the hook. Kindest Skoob. |

Please, no more apologies. Cheating is bad enough, without you keeping going on about it. You cheat.
Ah, yes, vulnerability. I know her well.
Don't start talking dirty with me, you old codger! Move #59: Knight H5 to F4 |

It's 7.25am. I'll be home at around 3pm.
I can't see the board right now, but I think I'm going to shufty up against that pesky knight. I'll let you know after 3, OK? What's the weather like? |

Okay MW
It's all good - apart from the aspect you mentioned that I shouldn't mention again. I'll catch you later - not literally, obviously. That would imply that I'm chasing after you for some reason. It would be just silly. What I should have said is something along the lines of; I shall wait until you make a move before I proceed. Weather's okay really. A bit nippy out, but quite acceptable at the moment. Went to Poundland today. There may be a Shuttlecock story in that. Hmmm. Regards Skoob. |

I wrote a Poundland story once. Something about a price hike, if I remember rightly.
Of course, I may remember wrongly. The HQ of Poundland is in the West Midlands, near Wolverhampton. It's an enormous warehouse that rises up like a giant monolith as you are driving down the motorway. I believe it can be seen from the Moon. Don't write that one; I'm going to do it. |

I just finished it. Called it the Pound Shop.
That's what the wife calls it. It's only an incidental in the story though. The crux of it all is how frustrating it is going shopping with women. Drives me up the pole. Regards Skoob. |
