Just cycled to work in the snow; wore some goggles today though so I could see - yay! Still scary when a big snowflake's coming right at you, was worse yesterday though when I wasn't wearing any glasses.

Snow + Eye = Cold poke in eye.

Ancient Lancastrian proverb.

And another thing, despite wearing two pairs of gloves (big assed gloves too) my fingers were still f-f-f-freezing. Woe is me.

Awww! Diddums! Don't forget to wear your longjohns. Not kidding, it's getting that cold here, women wear them too. They're still called longjohns though. I think they should change the name to longjanets. They have all pretty colours. I don't know WHY coz you wear them UNDER your trousers....

Did the Knights Templar really have an 'inner circle, the Anima Templi, or is this merely a fictional group created by Robyn Young to sell more copies of her successful Brethren trilogy.............?

My maternal grandfather was a Knights Templar, 9th division or order or something like that. Anyway, I'd ask him, but he's been dead for a long time.

Sorry I couldn't help.

You could ask him anyway.

Just on the off-chance, like.............

Yeah, maybe, through my dead great grandfather who was a spiritualist. It might just work. I'll get back to you.

It depends.

If I write about slow cookers then it's definitely ON.

If I'm cooking spoofs then it's OFF.............

Pa amb tomaquette

Catalan recipe

Bread tomato

Get some really crusty bread. Rub a clove of garlic on it.

Rub a really ripe tomato on it until it turns pink.

Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil.

Add a pinch of salt if required.

They swear by this in Barcelona.

It's quite nice too.

Regards

Skoob.

We seem to swear by, or at, every freaking thing at The Spoof.

I had some chana masala, curried peas and paneer for lunch. Bloody fantastic it was.

Woke up stupidly early. I hate weekends, the one chance for a lie-in and every bloody Saturday I'm up with the birds.

Except this Saturday, when I'm up with the dead, and people on night shifts, oh, and all you lovely folks out west. But, given that most of you are out partying, it's just me and Charpa kicking around at the moment.

Today's advent choccie was a bell. When do I get my special surprise?! It promises a fridge magnet, two foil wrapped festive chocolates and a stand-up figure.

It also warns that "Chocolate foils shown are for illustration only, contents may vary."

What looks like chocolate, but isn't chocolate? No, actually, I think I'd prefer it if that was left unanswered.

Good Morning good sir.

Yes, I'm still around. Trying to get one or two stories out there to keep my numbers up.

I used to not be a morning person but insomnia knows no boundaries.

Enjoy those chocolates. Word of advice. If it is shaped like a torpedo, pass it over.

Hell's bells. I was up around then to use the bathroom (as they say over here coz 'toilet' is a rude word) and I thought about coming on line....but figured I was the only one 'up' so bloody early. So I went back to bed and must have dozed off, because when I woke up..it was light outside.

We could have made a 'threesome' and upset Skoob.

Oh. I'm assuming, Mark, you were subtracting the time difference!!!

Never mind. Maybe tomorrow!

Went carol singing tonight, just at the local pub with my church choir, raising money for local charity. Was bloody boiling indoors, freezing outside. At least there were more people there this year than last year, not quite as scary.

Anyway, popped in to the local supermarche on the way home though and picked up some tasty Christmas treats which are in the oven as I type. What was stupid is they're obviously Christmas snacks, but they were on offer because they were best before the 4th - crazy.

They smell great.

Yum scrum!
