Some of you who read my blog (Skoob) click me, read me will already know this, but I have a thing for chilli sauces.
I bought some crystallised capsaicin a couple of months ago and they are real scary shit. It's a little glass phial which comes in a little glass bottle. The phial and the bottle have opposite threads so you can't open the inner phial by accident and the stuff actually makes me scared. I want to try it, but I don't want to try it at the same time. There are reports of real hardcore chilliheads trying it and one of them compared putting ONE crysal (which is the same size as a grain of sand) on his tongue and having the sensation of a red hot poker being pushed through his tongue. FOR A WEEK. One day I am gonna have to try it, but not today (mainly as I am in Egypt and the crystals are on my desk at home). I should add that Tabasco Sauce has a Scoville Heat rating of approx 1260, these crystals are 16,000,000............. |

btw, Ellie, Blairs 'Pure Death' is (in my opinion) the best sauce out there.
It is hot, but not stupidly hot and has great flavour. It is called 'Pure' as it has no chilli extract in it so it is just plain chilli hot. Another good on is 'Infinity Sauce' by Firefoods (again a 'pure' sauce, no extract). It is made with the one-time hottest chilli in the World (the Infinity Chilli) which was grown in Grantham, Lincolnshire, UK (you can find a link to their website on my blog, in case you missed it first time round.............ha! |

thanks Birbee.....I am going to give it a try. I'll let you know my thoughts once I try it...hopefully I can find it here without having to order it. There's a store here that has eclectic foods, wine and beer. Hopefully I'll find it there.

I think the idea is to throw the fillings out, make a hat out of the tinfoil and then begin measuring trees using one of the many approved methods from the Scout Handbook.
