I really get sick of hearing this shit about Gypsies/Knackers and how hard done by they are, that's the way they like it, they know the law inside out, better than the QM and they use it to their full advantage.

Pubs: Pubs here are privately owned, no brewery chains, no one wants Travellers drinking in their pubs because they wreck the place and no one else will drink tere so the landlord refuses them.
It's now illegal,it's against the law to refuse to serve them, against the law to let them destroy your premises and your livelihood so now what they they do is they arrive en masse, get refused, and then sue the publican.

You know what - so have I. Kind of. It's all a bit difficult for the mainstream managing agents and consulting engineers with their procurement procedures, health and safety, liability and indemnity rules...

Difficult when a group of travellers turn up on site and tell the foreman it's their patch and they'll do the labour on this job... And supply the blacktop.

See the travellers, although eager workpeople, don't have the correct insurance, or safety plans, or machinery, or hard hats, boots and high viz.

So we turf them off site, get our regular lazy-arsed turn-up-at-9-and-leave-at-3pm guys to work the site.

Then the travellers, taking umbrage at the decision, think it's fun to literally shoot at the site vehicles to try and regain their rightful contract.

After reading through this discussion quite thoroughly I've come to the conclusion that you've all got pirates. They are led by an undesirable called Captain Cook and only Peter Pan can save you. TRUE STORY:

My sister-in-law was on holiday with her partner in France this year, innocent lovely people, went to a village fete, on the way back to their hotel were followed. They were robbed, my sis-in-law was raped from behind and her partner had a knife in his throat and was forced to watch.

The perpetrators were Arabian, Algerian/French Muslim fuck-heads and during the rape my sis-in-law was called a European Christian slut and didn't deserve anything else. They also wished her the very best and hoped she got Aids, gas the bastards!!!!!!!!!

It's a true story and a warning to all innocents travelling in France, she was not their first victim, they are in every village, town and city in France (not only in France either)!
