In America, we have Republocrats and Demopublicans, which are pretty much the same thing, cleverly disguised as two different parties.
They get people fired up over "hot" issues like gay marriage and abortion, but in reality, both parties practice economic policy that ends up with a huge gap between the rich and the poor and a trashed out environment. And we don't even have tea time. God save Julie Andrews' granddaughter. |

Nope.
No tea time. Just "freedom fries" and coffee, usually Starbucks nowadays. |

They have the exact same system in the UK. The punch and Judy show they call Labour And Tory. They get 99% of media coverage in the news and they are just different masks of the same thing. They answer to a higher power some would call the New World Order. Those who control the banks the oil and the media control the world.

Such concerns fly way over my head.
I am but a humble scribe. Indeed there are those who would portray me as a really crap scribe. I am here present solely in pursuit of a gentle diversion, until such time as my writer's desk allows me to post another really crap story. Thankyou for your tolerance gentlemen. Skoob. |

It's just like voting, though. We buy their products, which sends money to the top of their pyramids and gives them this power. Bit by bit, by the billions, we elect them with monetary ballots. We COULD control the world. Without our input, the fat cats at the top couldn't make it just trading their own money and possessions back and forth. I've been ready for a revolution for a long time. Just waiting for everyone to get on board. |

I'm not sure that such an immature and muddle-headed statement can be taken seriously.
But as long as we have a monarch there will be no government able to become a dictatorship through armed take-over because of the fact that the armed forces swear allegiance to Queen/King and country. That is why we can sleep safe in our beds at night with the politicians that we currently have who would take away our basic freedoms.

Might be a bit late on this, I think it happened in 1776.
Still might be room on the bus though.

Fast forward to 2010.
Let's say there's a company/kingdom that sells chemicals that can kill you. Suppose the company/kingdom sells 10$ worth of these chemicals to 10,000,000 people. Now, say the CEO/king decides 10% of each one of those transactions ($10,000,000) goes right into his pocket, much as if he had collected it in taxes. Now, suppose he uses part of that money to influence regulation of his hazardous chemicals, and another part of the money to spread public misinformation concerning their harmfulness. In this "hypothetical" situation, a malevolent tyrant lives like a king on our money, while we suffer the consequences. I realize it's not 1776, but that sounds a lot like taxation without representation to me. History repeats itself, but not down to the very last detail. You've got to be paying attention. |

Hmmmm Let's see now.
SFO is calling for revolution. Since SFO will be the 'General' most likely will lead the charge up Moorview Hill or something. Yup, we make everything 'free'. SFO guarantees that all the revolutionary guys with the guns will divide everything equally. Please pass that joint........... This conversation was stupid even before it began. |

"Buck" the system, "Bargis."
"Think globally, act locally." I'm not going to lead a charge like a general. I just don't buy products that put money in the hands of the wrong corporations. I stopped buying gas at Texaco because they discriminated against black people. That probably added up to $12-20,000 lost for the company over the course of 8 years for my personal vehicle, plus probably that much again for work vehicles. Now I don't buy gas at all, or automobiles. I walk and use public transportation. I recycle. I grow plants for food and oxygen. I eat low on the food chain and take care of myself so I won't need expensive health care plans. To be successful, any revolution must start at a grass roots level. That doesn't happen until enough people get fed up and start voting with their dollars and attitudes, not just their votes. What's amazing to me is that a handful of automobile executives and oil executives have been holding back an environmental revolution for years. Their lobbying has been done at the detriment of the entire human race. Yet still, people go to business school, study flawed economic theory, graduate with a "C" average and no understanding of the basic laws of physics, then go out into the business world and voting booths, and make money hand over fist as the activities of their corporations, funded with our dollars, continue to strain the earth's resources and test its resiliency. That's more than just silly. It's "pure evil," to use the words of the only U.S. president, believe it or not, TO OBTAIN A MASTERS DEGREE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION. The earth is finite. Economic theory does not embrace this reality. Economic theory works - on paper - if there is a hypothetical infinite resource base to allow an infinitely expanding production possibilities curve. American economists generally do not acknowledge the inevitability of recessions, shrinking economies, and crashes. Then, a president with a mere MBA regurgitates this information in office, and tells us God helps him along in his decision making process? That presidency was silly before it began. Every yin has its yang. Maybe we should put the opposite of Bush in office: A genius with a strong science background who knows nothing about cutting through Texas bramble. That last one disqualifies me, so you're lucky. |

How silly of me! I forgot the biggest one of all: Ultimate resource depletion - including the atmosphere, a variable generally not included in business equations at all. |
