He's been taking pictures, lots of pictures - jolly good he is at it too. You can see them on Farcebook. Plus he's got a blog, which is very interesting and frequently hilarious, plus he might be moving to a different part of the country soon. Oh, and he's got a camel wot he nicked when he went to Egypt last year on his holidays, and he's been to Rome too. And he grew a whopping great moustache for that Movember thing.

Nice one Birbs did you cool him down? - Is it a stacked image composite or do you have a frighteningly expensive macro with a good depth of field? Some stacked images of insects are impressive.

Hey Birbee,
If you undo the lens off the front and shake your camera out, it'll just fly away. Then you can get back to taking proper Facebook pictures - high wide-angle shots of pairs of drunk people pretending to lick each other's faces.

Here's one that got into a National Magazine recently (only a small photo, but it is one of mine and it was a national mag!!!)

Ellie, a stacked image is when you take multiple photos of the same thing, but focusing on different points, and then combine (stack) them all together to make one image.

With macro photography, unless you have very expensive equipment (which I don't), then only a very small area of the subject is in focus (depth of field).

Stacking allows the whole subject matter to be in focus..............

The Fireworks picture is amazing! Very impressive....

And congrats on being in National Geographic. That was my dream in high school...to take pictures for National Geographic.
