I think people should be able to live their lives the way they want to, so long as they aren't hurting anyone else. If someone, no matter what their cultural background may be, commits a crime, then they are a criminal and should be treated within the boundaries of the law.

But if they are just living a life that their ancestors lived, in a manner of following a cultural tradition, then that's tradition and should be cherished and preserved. That's what makes our country a nice place to live in. Diversity. It should be encouraged.

Its time for bed. The world has made me too sad to stay awake any longer. I'm going to go and dream about a beautiful world with rainbows and peace-protests and CND peace marches. Goodnight.

I think some of us are dodging the obvious?

Eastern Europeans are no longer welcome in more prosperous countries like the Netherlands, France, Germany and the UK. They are being blamed for many of the difficulties now being faced by the Western European countries.

The Germans have a very large number of Turks and many of their young people have retained their cultural links but are German born and bred. Yes, immigrants should at least attempt to learn the language of their adopted country. They truly cannot function fully in the life of their new home if they do not speak the language.

I know it's very different in the Manchester/Liverpool area than in Scotland. Sure, we have many new friends who have set up home in Scotland but nothing like the numbers to be found in England. Maybe that's why we do not see these newcomers, who have adopted Scotland as their home, as any kind of problem in Scotland.

But, when you consider that there are 4 million of Turkish origin in Germany and the population of Scotland is 5 million? That's a problem of a very different magnitude.

But, let's not get into race on here. Live and let live, please.

It isn't about that.

We were talking about Roma gypsies.

Not gypsies in general - most of whom contribute to society and are okay with most people.

We have very few Roma gypsies here in the UK. They don't want to work, or assimilate - they top up whatever they can scrounge off the government of whatever country they're in by aggressive begging, street robbery, general criminal activity.

They have no redeeming features. They're a serious problem - especially in Italian cities, but also in France.

The reason why tolerant nations such as Italy and France want rid of them is because they're a pain in the arse.

It's not being racist or vindictive - it's just about not wanting their city streets overrun by beggars and thugs from another country. I've seen these people pester elderly people in Rome, in a really menacing way. They hang around on the Metro - the women begging and the guys pickpocketing or trying to mug tourists. That's why they don't want them.

It's as simple as that.

You'd have to ask the handful of Spoofers I've been fortunate enough to meet in the flesh.
