Actually, it is getting ready to start! Watch for the NFL preseason at the end of the month, and college football to resume in late August.

Is college football any better than the NFL - or whatever its called?

I used to watch American Football on telly years ago and liked the fancy costumes and the likes but it literally put me in a coma.

You ever watch a rugby match, Jal....I mean, Throdmorton?
Well its just as boring but theres more blood and ugly men with ears like lumps of raw flesh.
And they toss the ball backwards.
Jesus Christ, talk about a stupid rule.

Football (soccer) ticks all my boxes. thats when its played properly and not just a bunch of useless goons kicking a pigs stomach up and down a field of grass.

And don't get me started on Basketball.

I prefer college to the pros. In college, there is more of a team spirit, more pride, more selfless acts on and off the field, and a more exciting game. Players know that they will be there four years at most and will work with and help train their replacements.

In the pros, you've got a bunch of spoiled rich boys that are playing for thier paychecks who have little sense of comaraderie (I know that's spelled wrong) and no sportsmanship. They may play at a higher individual level, but are doing it to get their next sneaker endorsement. Players will not share their skills or talents to teach others, because it may cost them their spot on the team (contributing to the selfishness that already exists).

Give me a college game any day of the week (even division two or three).

That said, I still root for the Dallas Cowboys in the pros.

Its been the same in the World Cup.
Nearly all the 'Big names' have been crap playing for their country. Its like they don't see any point in bothering because they are multi millionaires and are plastered all over posters and think they are great anyway.

Well, I think a fair few of them will regret acting like that when their playing careers are over and they're just some overpaid fat, baldy old men dreaming of what could have been if only they'd tried to act not like dicks!

Well it is over and Spain won - as predicted by Paul the psychic octopus (who is - in fact REAL - I read about him and watched the video on online Telegraph UK). As I predicted in one of my Spoofs, he IS in fear for his life after Germany s loss. Well, Paul has not got a clue - but his owners are worried.....

Germany were complete and utter....rubbish.

A disgrace to the memory of the way they played in every other match.
They sat back and couldn't pass the ball through midfield and made themselves look like knobs.
Shameful.

At least Spain tried to score.
