Julie Andrews: "England Needs the Queen"

As a U.S. citizen, I have my own ideas that come to mind when I think of the Queen of England. Nevertheless, it occurs to me that I don't really have a feel for how people in the U.K. view the monarchy.

As a few of you may remember, I was surprised at some feelings expressed in these forums about Margaret Thatcher, myself only being familiar with her through various, exclusively American filters - news media, schools, and parents.

What do y'all really think about the Queen?

Or Julie Andrews, for that matter?

Though, not a British subject, (Geez! that term really drives us yanks nuts! but it's cute) I personally feel the old Queenie's pretty hot! Imagine going through your whole life being a country's poster girl.
Not much taste in men though!

She ain't the Queen, she's Hitler's daughter.

Wait, that couldn't be right.

Julie Andrews thinks the Queen is "practically perfect in every way."

Could she be mistaken? I'm going to have to take a spoonful of sugar to help this medicine go down.

Take the medicine the French way, SFO.

Soon it will be compulsory in all of Europe after an EU decision on rectal implants.

I'd take Anne Hathaway over Megan Fox any day, and possibly over Julie Andrews at 30.

Hi Doc

Thought about that question you asked about what expat Brits miss the most.

Not an expat myself, but when I'm out of the country the only things that I long for from home are the newspapers and a little quality TV late at night.

Not very inspirational I'm afraid.

There are a large percentage of republicans in England ,Scotland and Wales but they are not allowed to speak on national television or national newspapers. That is why its so difficult to get rid of these parasites in the monarchy. If you don't agree with the brainwashed point of view you are not allowed to speak in mainstream media this is what is called democracy. They are even better at suppressing things than the nazis.

DEMOCRACY IS ONLY A BRAINWASHED DICTATORSHIP

Republicans in pubs where the publican is republican sit round all night drinking beer thinking of ways to get rid of the monarchy. Thats how Cromwell got started until some idiot decided to start the monarchy again.

They sell everything in Las Vegas but you usually come back without your shirt. They don't wear any tops in the Folies Bergere either.
