Gordon Brown - My Fake Diary
Wednesday, 29 August 2012
The voice of Russia claimed:
The highest earner in the past year is former Labour Prime Minister Gordon Brown who earned more than 900,000 pounds giving speeches and undertaking academic and policy work.
But Mr. Brown is unusual. He doesn't personally gain from that money channelling it towards a foundation which makes substantial donations to charity.
Others from all parties on the political spectrum make no such commitment to charity and earn substantial amounts.
The former Labour Minister David Miliband earned 410,000 pounds over the past year from speeches and consultancy work.
Below him at number 3 on the list is the Conservative Geoffrey Cox, who made 404,000 pounds from his work as a prominent lawyer.
John Hemmings is a liberal democrat MP. He's the 10th highest earning MP with wages of 146,000 pounds from his computer company last year. He says, what's important is how much time MP's spend on their outside interests, not how much they earn.
Quiet right too!
