David Beckham - My Fake Diary
Tuesday, 4 September 2012
Robbie Keene scored, and I did directly from a corner as the Galaxy opened their CONCACAF Champions League campaign against El Salvador's Isidro Metapan with a 5-2 win!
Bit of the Journal report: After falling behind in the 17th minute, a star turn by David Beckham rallied the hosts. His cross led to the Galaxy's equaliser, a Ricardo Alvarado own goal, before Keane's header gave them a 2-1 lead.
Beckham capped the evening when he scored directly from a corner on the stroke of half-time before Brazilian Juninho wrapped up a comfortable win with second-half goals either side of a Munoz penalty.
Keane was given his marching orders by Alfredo Penazola after he disputed the referee's decision to book him for diving, a call which left manager Bruce Arena scratching his head.
Still... we won!
