A New York man who says a rat bit his penis during a jail stay may sue county officials, a judge has ruled.
Peter Solomon, who said he later had to endure a course of rabies jabs, says jailers knew the ward in which they placed him was infested with rodents.
He says the jail was negligent and mistreated him because he is black.
Nassau County Correctional Centre near New York City have responded to the allegations. A spokespersonnage told us, "It has nothing to do with his race. We have CCTV of this man cornering the rat, becoming sexually aroused and trying to ram his erection up the rat's arse. The rat turned round and sank its fangs right into his bell-end. In our mind it was simply a case of self-defence."
The rat has since been examined by a local vet and is being treated for Syphilis.
