Andy Walker, a homeless man from New York, applied for citizenship in the Caribbean tax haven Saint Lucia, say sources.
Walker plans to make Amsterdam his second home and occasionally will make business trips to America after having renounced his American citizenship. He started a multi-million dollar export company in Saint Lucia, similar to Amazon.
Walker was released from federal prison after media humiliation and temporarily stayed in a halfway house, records show.
He served about 15 months in the Federal Medical Center in Devens, Massachusetts, until he was transferred to a residential re-entry center in Brooklyn, New York, according to a human rights organization.
"Life sucks, but if your strong, you can make something out of life," says Walker.
"I may decide to change my name in Saint Lucia, to Albert Ladenburg," says Walker.
Life seems to be getting brighter for Andy Walker after leaving America for a better country.
