A 34-year-old man was found guilty of stealing a Street Sweeping vehicle in Slough.

Father of eleven, Mike Oolies, was arrested in March, having stolen the machine from the council vehicle pound. He led police on a 13-mile chase which ended up on the outskirts of Maidenhead. Police threw a 'stinger' across the road and brought the Street Sweeper to a halt.

Magistrates sentenced Oolies to 25 hours of Community Service, but recognised that the nature of his offence meant that he had completed the sentence whilst committing the crime.

Magistrate Edith Binlid said, "He may have led the police a merry dance, but he left the roads looking lush."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
