It is something that is heard more and more on the internet these days, particularly in YouTube comments, Twitter arguments, and other media that inexplicably seem to be the primary way in which humans communicate nowadays. TheSpoof decided to investigate the thorny question - has feminism gone too far?
I chatted briefly to ex-prisoner Barry Knuckles on FaceSpam, before he agreed to a telephone interview. He firmly believes that feminism has gone too far. He explained, "I was beating the wife the other day, you know, just giving her a bit of a slap. And then she goes and threatens to call the police on me. I mean, I was only taking advantage of my conjugal rights. Now they're threatening to send me back to jail. It makes me really mad! I mean, I can't think of anyone more oppressed these days than white men like me. I demand equal rights."
Knuckles broke off contact with me shortly afterwards, and I haven't heard from him since.
I found a more friendly voice in nightclub bouncer Jeff Thump, who works as Classie's nightclub in Sheffield. He thought that women were getting it easy. "I see plenty of birds come in every night. Some of them are right troughers, but now and then we get some that are alright, never the top quality minge though. Thursday night is the best. That's ladies night, they get in free. Imagine that! Totally free. Poor blokes have to pay five pound to get in. So yeah, I think feminism has gone too far."
Transsexual Geoff Petticoat has a unique take on the issue, having seen things from both a male and female perspective. He was recently thrown out of a lesbian club for using the men's toilets, which he claims is discrimination. "I'm suing them," he said. "They said I didn't look feminine enough. I said, what about that big fat lezzer over there? She don't look feminine neither. It's not fair, I only want to dress up and pick up some unsuspecting lesbian. For some reason they don't like women who are actually men with cocks. So yeah, I'd agree, feminism has gone too far."
