image for PFA Nominations Announced

Gareth Bale and Samir Nasri are among the nominations for this year's Professional Footballers' Association awards.

The Spurs and Arsenal midfielders are nominated in the PFA Player and Young Player categories.

Welshman Bale has also been put forward for a new category - "The Player That Most Of His Colleagues Wished To Hell Was English".

Meanwhile, Frenchman Nasri's name has been put in the ring for another new award - "The Most Skilful Player Who Sometimes Overdoes It By Beating An Opponent Once Too Often".

Arsenal's Jack Wilshere is in the frame for PFA Young Player as well as being the sole nominee in the category "Player Whose Surname Is Most Often Misspelt As Wiltshire".

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
