image for Scientists new study reveals we are all in danger if we eat packaged or canned goods, which can cause cancer, obesity and heart problems. Is this safe to drink?

Some Scientists have been studying the materials used in food and beverage packaging and have discovered some disturbing facts.

Certain chemical additives used in the packaging of food and beverages, including plastics and cans, have been found to be substances which can be harmful to our health.

Side effects can include, obesity, heart problems and even certain cancers, to name but a few.

Cereal in boxes? Not safe as a result of additives to the cardboard they are packaged in including the plastic liners.

So what can we safely drink? Tap water? Well, this travels a long way to get to our taps. Some people filter their water others put it in filter jugs - made from PLASTIC. Other people buy it in PLASTIC bottles or use the PLASTIC water containers in offices, putting the water in paper cups which contain, who knows how many chemicals in their manufacturing process?

Shall we all rush to buy organic produce? Yes, let's do that. Head for your supermarkets and your farmers' markets where you will find even some of that organic produce already conveniently packaged in plastic. Potatoes tend to be packed in paper bags. We don't know what is in the paper they use in the packaging process.

Even if the organic produce is NOT in a plastic bag...the bags are hanging there beside the organic produce for you to fill in order to transport your 'healthy foods' home, where you probably put it in your fridge in PLASTIC drawers and crispers.

So, lets all meet at our local watering holes and drink from the fresh water in the streams and ponds. Following this we can head into the forests to forage for our fresher than fresh food. Meat eaters, bring your guns and crossbows and butchering tools.

Talk about progress!
