Terry's Dad was in good form. He had just completed a soduko puzzle and smiled happily at Penny as she came through the door.

'I've just come from nowhere.' said Penny.

'Better than here.'

'Sure. I realy liked the idea in that book 'News from Nowhere' you lent me, of turning the Houses of Parliament into a gigantic facility for manure.'

'Yes. That's one of William Morris's best ideas.

'My Dad says it is all Utopian nonsense.'

'He's entitled to his opinion.'

'But where is Utopia? I looked it up in my Atlas and it wasn't there.'

'Well, it was an idea started in the sixteenth century by Sir Thomas More who wrote a book called 'Utopia' about an imaginary perfect society.'

'What happened to him?'

'Executed.'

'Just for that?'

'He was the wrong religion for the King.'

'My art teacher's father was a Sir. You would like our art teacher. He's great fun. The Head always calls him Albert or Mr Read, but he's Bert to us.'

'He doesn't sound like the teachers I knew.'

'My Mum says that as well. But she thinks it is alright because he teaches art and his father was a Sir.'

'I see. It is OK if you've got a handle is it?'

'What do you mean - handle?'

'A Title, Penny - like Sir or Lord - which some idiots think means these people are more important.'

'Well they are.'

'Only to them upstairs.'

'Them upstairs?'

'The Bosses, the ruling class'.

'My Mum isn't the ruling class.'

'No Penny. Of course not. She is just a victim of the class system.'

'Oh dear, poor Mum.'
