image for Oregon Woman Pretty Sure That Writing Is Her Talent After Watching Writing Themed TV Series Artiss Impression of what Rodsinski's typewriter may look like

Eugene, OR: A hangover and the discovery of a new favorite TV series proved to be the inspiration behind Eugene woman Penny Rodsinski's new found vocation. After watching a rerun of a TV show, based around the life of a barely functioning, sex addicted fiction writer and the sexual scrapes he gets himself into, Rodsinski felt suitably inspired to put pen to paper herself, and fulfill her long-term dream to be a writer.

"Saturday night's binge drinking led to the usual Sunday morning tailspin of feelings of worthlessness, restlessness and mind numbing boredom with my life", the thirty-seven year-old told colleagues Monday morning over a coffee and cigarettes - neither were vices she indulged in when they last saw her at 5pm on Friday.

"I was feeling bored and restless. I could have practiced the violin my husband bought me - I was sure I'd be good at that because my grandfather played. Or I could have painted a watercolor but what's the point? I wasn't good at it straight away so I gave up on it. I could have joined my husband to take our baby girl for a walk but where's the inspiration there? But when that rerun of Californication came on TV, I knew what I wanted to do with my life."

For the less TV savvy amongst our readers, Californication stars David Duchovny of X Files fame as Hank Moody - a successful, but less than prolific writer who, malcontent with his life, fucks the shit out of anything that walks in order to fill the bleak interior emptiness that threatens to consume him at any moment.

When asked what aspect of the show inspired her, Rodsinski was very forthcoming. "It's not only about the sex and the drugs. It's about the creative vision, the need to get these words, these creations, out of me and onto the page. When I saw Hank Moody butt fucking a young TV starlet I suddenly realized, 'I know that feeling'. It was like someone had turned a light on and there was no going back."

And although admittedly not a reader, Ms. Rodsinski has already ordered a number of classic movie adaptations from Netflix and intends to start studying up on the art of writing, starting with '10 Thing I Hate About You' - based on Shakespeare's, 'The Taming of the Shrew' - and is currently top bidder on an old Smith-Corona typewriter on eBay.

When asked about the plot of her soon to be started first novel, Rodsinski told The Spoof, "Well, they say you should write what you know. I've got this character that gives up her career and jeopardizes her relationships and stability to follow her dream - the dream of becoming a writer. Apart from that, she pretty much fucks and sucks her way through the book."

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
